First Meeting
Project #1
Starting November, 01, 2012 we will be introduce our first project. The first project will be building a variable power supply. We will design from scratch the entire circuit, that means
circuit prototyping as well. For our board we will make an actual (Printed Circuit Board). It is very important to show up to the meetings because we plan on providing most of the materials needed for this project. If you have additional questions please contact EES @ eesdevry@gmail.com

EES Member Meeting Thursday! (2/21/13)
This semester is coming to a close, so next semester is time for a new direction. We will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday to discuss a direction and focus for our next project. These meetings are critical! I know all of you have ideas you want to explore, please come and share them with us!
The agenda for this coming Thursdays will be:
- All who went to the expo can share what they saw
- Inform people of upcoming events
- Then we spend the bulk of the time brainstorming for next project
Please plan to come this Thursday to help give your ideas and to take part in deciding what our next project will be.
Shimpo LabView Project
The EESociety has an exciting opportunity to implement a data aquisition solution for Shimpo Instruments. SHIMPO INSTRUMENTS, a division of NIDEC-SHIMPO America Corporation, is a leading manufacturer and supplier of force, torque and speed evaluation instruments and accessories.
They have a new series of torque meters they have developed and they want us to come up with a way to automatically read and store data the meters produce on a computer using the LabView software.
During our next LabView workshop, we will do a lab exercise that will read data from a DMM and store it to a file. This exercise give us an idea of how to implement a solution for Shimpo.
Finished Power Supply!!!
We finished our first project!!! We have completed our variable power supply with positive and negative outputs between 1.5v - 20v. this was a very good learning experience, all members got great hands on product design and troubleshooting experience.

Experience that Counts
This session the Electronic Engineering Society is working on developing a system that will
enhance you abilities to gain experience through activities. We plan to emulate the industry of Engineering of Electronics. Overall we plan to offer titles, experience points and experience that can make a difference in your future career.
The EE Society is fast at work doing theoretical and physical testing of the Marquee prototype. We have started the process of soldering the components to the PCB boards and using these to test. There is still more to be done! As a group, we are working on developing the code, tesitng the prototype boards, and creating documentation. We hope to have a fully enclosed prototype soon!

Photonics & Nano-Technology:
a series of lectures by Dr. Hamid Mohajeri
EES is hosting this series of lectures which will cover Photonics and Nano Technology which are two of the most important fields of semiconductors and a very hot subject for Engineering Graduates. Many of today's Engineering companies seek individuals that have knowledge of semiconductors and their optical properties.
This series will begin @ 12pm on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013. This recurring set of lectures will take place every two months (every week 6 in the DeVry semseter system). The subsequent dates are TBA.
Please click the link below to RSVP for these lectures. They are free to all interested persons. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
